Kids in Mission

Caring Kids

Caring Kids offers a way for families with children of all ages to work side-by-side, loving God and serving others.  Each mission stop offers a scriptural foundation for service, prayer, and fun, hands-on work in God's Kingdom.  Children and Youth of all ages are welcome to participate! Learn more!

Noisy Offering and Manna Bags!

Every 5th Sunday the children in worship collect a Noisy Offering during Children's Time at all three worship services. The congregation empties their pockets and purses of spare change (as well as money they may have saved during the month) into metal buckets carried by the kids. The children dump their buckets into a big metal pot near the altar and watch how each person's small contribution makes a big difference!

The money from Noisy Offering funds our ongoing Manna Bag Project.  Manna Bags are zip lock bags filled with food, first aid and hygeine supplies that are given to people living on the street.  The children raise the funds, assemble the manna bags and then hand them out to people in need.  This allows for faith-forming, life-transforming, face-to-face encounters with the people they are serving. Members of the congregation are welcome to pick up manna bags to hand out as well!  Money left over from making manna bags goes to fund other children's mission projects through Caring Kids, FISH and special Mission Sundays.

FISH (Tween Ministry)

As part of our Tween Ministry, the FISH group participate in monthly mission and outreach projects during the school year.  Last year FISH handed water bottles out to soccer players in the fields near our church, participated in a Food Pantry scavenger hunt and volunteered to clean up the Sanctuary and get it ready for worship services.  Learn more!

Youth Mission Trips

In addition to mission work within the setting of our weekly Youth Group, our middle and high school youth send teams out each year to be the hands and feet of Christ. Last year our High Schoolers traveled to Natchez, Mississippi with CTCYM for construction projects on homes of low-income and elderly residents and our Middle School traveled to Brownsville, TX with UM Army BASIC in July.
