Maundy Thursday

  • Maundy Thursday Worship at 7:30 pm

Historically, Holy Thursday signifies the last evening Jesus spent with his disciples in the Upper Room. Holy Thursday is often called “Maundy” Thursday. “Maundy” refers to the new commandment (mandatum novum in Latin) to love one another, as Jesus demonstrated through the act of washing his disciples’ feet. Scripture tells us that on this last evening, Jesus shared a meal with disciples, washed their feet, and instituted what we now call “Eucharist” or “Holy Communion.” The service will include communion.
