Good News Ministry

Originally started by John Stine as the MUMC Clown Ministry, this group spreads the good news of God's love to our community.  In addition to participating in church events such as the Fall Festival and Spring Fling, we also visit nursing homes, churches and any organization that requests our service. Our programs include songs, music, storytelling, Scripture readings and clown/puppet shows. If you can play a musical instrument, enjoy singing, like to act or if you just want to have fun and spread the love of Jesus to others, join us! LEARN MORE.

WOW (Women of the Word)

Women of the Word is a group of women who meet on the second and fourth Fridays of each month.  We choose inspirational books to read and discuss.  Each meeting begins with a devotional provided by one of the members.  We close our meeting with celebrations, concerns and prayer.  Our group participates in service projects such as, working in the food pantry, assembling Mana bags and providing refreshments for teachers at Menchaca Elementary. We also support the food pantry through our annual fundraising efforts with Mother's Day carnations and Father's Day ribbons. Contact Ellis Lay at eamlay@gmail.com for more information.
