Food Pantry
Saturdays, 9-11 am
Do you need help with food or diapers?
Our food pantry has partnered with the Central Texas Food Bank and the Austin Diaper Bank to provide a variety of both fresh and packaged foods, baby diapers and wipes for needy local families. When available, we also provide fresh bread, paper towels, toilet paper and toiletries.
We distribute these items every Saturday from 9 to 11 am. Look for the food pantry signs along FM 1626 in front of the church and enter the church property from the east side on Deane Drive. Click here to see a map with directions. After you arrive, please park in the East parking lot and enter the church building through the main East doors. There will be signs and volunteers to direct you.
Supporting the Food Pantry
Toiletry/Item Donations
Even though the bulk of our available food and baby diapers will be provided through local non-profit agencies, we continue to welcome donations of toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, bath soap, shampoo & conditioner, toothpaste, tooth brushes (individually wrapped), disposable razors and deodorant. We can also accept non-expired, unopened & undamaged canned and pre-packaged food items. We continue to need standard sized paper grocery sacks for food distribution as well.
You can donate anytime but the collection containers are available just outside of the main East doors on Wednesdays from 9-11 am and just inside the main East doors on Saturdays and Sundays from 8:30 am-11:30 am. For your convenience, there is also a donation cart in the Hospitality Area at all times.
Monetary Donations
Send monetary donations or HEB gift cards to the church at Manchaca UMC, PO Box 460, Manchaca, TX 78652. Be sure to write “food pantry” on the memo line of your check.
You may also donate through our online giving portal by selecting “food pantry” as the fund. These funds will help us to buy necessary toiletries or other items to enhance quality of life for our clients.
Volunteer
Please sign up for an available time slot on Saturday mornings to distribute food to our neighbors in need or on Thursdays from 9-11 am to collect the food delivery from the Central Texas Food Bank.
We ask that volunteers be at least 9 years old; please don't sign up volunteers ages 9-11 so we can ensure we have enough older participants. Thank you for your support!
