On January 10-11, we gathered as a congregation for a church-wide planning meeting—a time of prayer, dreaming, and discerning God's next steps for our church. Over the course of these two days, we reflected on where we have been, where we are now, and where God is calling us in the future.
Through worship, discussion, and shared visioning, we identified the key areas where we believe God is leading us to grow and serve. Our time together was filled with inspiration and a renewed sense of purpose as we committed to deepening our faith, strengthening our community, and expanding our impact.
Out of this process, we developed a set of Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) to guide our church in the coming months and years. These goals will help us stay focused and accountable as we seek to be faithful to God's call.
Our Objectives & Key Results
OBJECTIVE: Foster deeper spiritual growth and stronger connections with Christ and one another among our members.
Worship & Wisdom Summits: Launch a quarterly spiritual gathering, featuring a Friday evening lay-led worship service and Saturday morning teaching, focused on spiritual enrichment and mobilizing the congregation. (Dates: May 2-3, August 15-16, and November 7-8)
Small Group Leadership Training: Train 100% of small group leaders to embrace their role as shepherds, equipping them in spiritual guidance, prayer practices, participant follow-up, and leadership partnership. Implement regular check-ins for mutual learning and support by summer 2025.
Event Calendar Creation: Create and print a comprehensive event calendar for 2025, listing all church events and programs, and distribute it to the congregation by March 3.
One-Month Church-wide Sunday School: Organize and lead a church-wide communal Sunday school class, with all regular Sunday school classes participating, and engage at least 50% of the congregation in committing to a spiritual practice throughout the month. (During Lent, or Summertime, or Advent)
OBJECTIVE: Build and empower an Ambassador team to connect with new people and deepen engagement through digital outreach, guest follow-up, ministry client engagement, and community connections.
Digital Outreach Ambassadors: Assemble a team of 3+ ambassadors by March 5 to design and implement a digital engagement strategy, including targeted social media content, text campaigns, and website updates.
Guest Follow-Up Ambassadors: Recruit and train a team of 3+ ambassadors by April 5 to implement a consistent follow-up process for first-time guests, aiming for a 50% response rate to follow-up communications and invitations to next-step opportunities.
Ministry Client Ambassadors: Launch a team of 3+ ambassadors by May 5 to develop strategies for engaging selected groups from the following: food pantry clients, CDC families, WFFC families, Vacation Bible School families, pumpkin and Christmas tree customers, and basketball court users. The team will design at least two outreach initiatives or plans by July 5 to build connections and foster deeper relationships with these communities.
Community Connections Ambassadors: Form a team of 3+ ambassadors by June 5 to develop and implement strategies for engaging the broader community. The team will identify and execute at least three initiatives within the year, such as distributing mailers, creating invitation cards, making intentional visits to local businesses, or other outreach efforts aimed at connecting with people in our surrounding area.
As we move forward, we invite every member of our congregation to be part of this journey. Whether through prayer, participation, or leadership, your gifts and presence matter. Together, we can bring these dreams to life and continue to be a church that loves, serves, and grows in Christ.
