Texting, emailing and phone calls are wonderful, but it is so very special to receive a beautiful handwritten card from someone who cares. We all appreciate knowing that God loves us, and so does our church.
The Notewriters ministry first became an integral part of my life when my mother, Mertice Wells, a faithful member of Manchaca United Methodist Church, was in a tragic accident. She began receiving wonderful, caring cards from members letting her know how much they were praying for her and loved her. These cards meant the world to her and helped during her long recovery.
This special heartfelt ministry has been a part of our congregation for over forty years. Various members have taken on the responsibility of developing a team of Notewriters who will send out loving cards to our family in Christ who need prayers due to illness, health concerns, the passing of a loved one, or other issues.
This endearing ministry of Notewriters always needs more caring individuals. Our message is to pray daily for those in need and write caring notes of love to those on a given list one month out of the year.
