I like power tools; you may as well. Even more, I like powerful tools. Especially when those tools help me as a caregiver. For Continuing Education and for my own current need for skills in caregiving, I recently completed a 15 hour class designed to train the trainer with powerful tools in caregiving.
Sponsored by AGE of Central Texas, this class taught me methods in self-care and communication so that I can thrive in a season of caring for my father. The class also taught me to facilitate training for other caregivers. In the next year, I hope to co-lead a six week class for the Manchaca-Buda-Kyle area. Six sessions of 90 minutes each are designed especially for active caregivers interested in an adult learning experience.
So many of you have been through or are going though a season defined by focused care for a family member, close friend, or a neighbor that has no family to call upon. As I have shared my story of caregiving in this last year, you have blessed me with your care. For our family, we can’t say it enough - thank you!
For caregivers and for care receivers, may the way of Jesus and his grace and love continue to abide deeply in our hearts.
Much love and many blessings,
Pastor Paul
