Sanctuary Stained Glass, Part 3

Hidden Windows

(After much inspection and consideration, this author is speculating that the windows in the hallway next to the Choral Suite were installed in an incorrect order and to understand this description one must stand facing the windows and read them from right to left. Also note their order is 1, 2, 4, 3. I know this is a bit confusing, but please bear with me.)

The last two windows by the potted palm are called The Genesis Windows. At the top and bottom of the first window is a purple orb with a triangle in it to represent the Triune God (God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit). This symbol appears at the top and bottom of all four windows.

1. It is surrounded by rays of light to symbolize the Creation when God said, “Let there be light.” and the light separated from the darkness and the land from the waters.

2. The next window to the left depicts the Garden of Eden in all its glory with the Tree of Life and the serpent waiting for Adam and Eve to corrupt.

Moving to the left the third and fourth windows are The Revelation Windows which were inspired by the last three chapters of Revelations which notes the Second Coming of Christ and Christ’s thousand year reign on Earth.

4. The red droplets symbolize the blood of Christ shed for you. In this scene “the lion is laying down with the lamb” and the Triune God is watching over all.

3. In the last window next to the outside doors Christ is portrayed as the “bright morning star” and “every eye shall see him.” Beneath Christ, but still above the Earth, Heaven with its buildings of gold, jeweled walls, and streets of glass appears through the clouds. Below the New Earth appears the River of Life flowing from the throne of God.
