This season as we celebrate the resurrection love of God in Jesus, there are so many ministries and the laypersons who carry out our mission for which I give thanks and offer a BIG THANK YOU!
The seven weeks between Easter and Pentecost, our aim is to spread the love of God in our community in both a focused prayer of thanksgiving for existing ministries and dreams of new ways to offer Christ through Manchaca UMC. We are United Methodists and have a rich heritage of spreading scriptural holiness and social holiness across the land. Spreading LOVE is one of the ways we can express our faith and offer the grace of Christ in our community. In a sermon on April 7th, I spoke about 'Multiplying Love' from Paul W. Chilcote's book. I will be saying more soon.
We invite you to be in worship with us as much as you can in this season. Hear the proclamation. Participate in the prayers. Be present for each other. Pray for our church, on a local and conference level.
And be in prayer for the larger connection we share as United Methodists around the world. April 23 to May 3 is the General Conference meeting in Charlotte, NC at which delegates gather to worship, pray, receive communion, and make decisions that govern our denomination. You can follow these proceedings and live worship streams by using the information provided in this link.
