Time: 10:00 - 11:00 am

Location: Main Building, Room 8 (by the East Entrance)
Current Study: Advent

Enhance the season of Christmas and Advent by learning what each Gospel had to say about the birth of Christ. So often, we combine the stories into one instead of looking at each story separately and why there are different stories. In addition, we will examine the meaning behind the Advent wreath and where the four candles of joy, peace, hope, and love come from. The class will be based on the latest research and commentaries available. Begins November 10.

Led by Julia Walker.

Marbridge Sunday school class is primarily for the residents of Marbridge. Our class is for people who have cognitive or intellectual disabilities. The class uses the monthly United Methodist Upper Room devotional as our guide and each week the class takes turns reading the daily devotional and we share our thoughts on the scripture, prayer, and stories from everyday people around the world. The class is lively and fun and brings all of us closer to the love that Jesus has for all of God’s people. The class is led by Ken Kattner, Rocky Eubank, and Ron Mize with Jeanne Devine and Jen Troke assisting as needed.

Ministry

About the study: Homeless. No other word better describes our modern-day suffering. It reveals one of our deepest and most painful conditions—not having a sense of belonging. However, Alan Graham, founder of Mobile Loaves & Fishes and Community First! Village is improving the quality of life for a vast number of people by sharing his personal story of becoming more human through humanizing others. In doing so, he shows us the home we’ve all longed for but never had. Graham also shares the stories of the homeless, and the stories of those whose worldviews have been shifted by the homeless in a raw, humorous, and honest voice.
